First of all, gather the materials needed to craft the scratching pad. You need to have a piece of wood, hot glue, natural fiber rope, leather string, scissors, drill, and pencil.  These materials can be found at the nearest store in your city. Wrap the wood with natural fiber rope. Use glue to secure it. So, the cat will not break it easily. Create two holes with a drill to put the leather string.
